The weather is warm and I am happy.
This weekend was really good. Friday brought a miraculous shopping excursion wherein not only was everything at Express ten dollars (!) and I found adorable shoes in my size (!!) for half what I expected to pay for them (!!!), but I learned that a Sephora just opened at Southpoint (!!!!). Amazing. And a good omen for the Triangle—Sephora doesn’t open stores in scrub malls. I may never go to Raleigh again.
Marc came into town on Saturday and joined me for 24 hours of great food, conversation, and scenery. We ate at Toscas, which I love so much, and got (/had) to sit outside because most of the space was reserved for an event for people with poor fashion sense. The peoplewatching factor was incredible.. it was like going to a gourmet circus.
Sunday gave me some of the best pancakes of my life and a sore butt from playing tennis. How a person gets a sore butt from tennis is beyond me, but I think it may be a sign that I put a little more pizazz into the sport than is really necessary. All in all, things were amazing, which is great because last week was really rough. I’m going into this one with high hopes, but no matter what happens, Miss Annie G will be in town with Mallory this weekend so there’s a light at the end of the tunnel anyway.
In other news:
*We’re still working out the quirks, but you can see the website I made for the band The Morning Code at www.themorningcode.com. I would recommend that you go there and trade some money for some good music. I’m going to put a permanent link to it on this site as soon as we get all the content up but you, loyal reader of memorly.com, get to hear about it first. The next time you get into an indie-off with your favorite music snob, you’ll thank me.
*I’m working on a project that involves responsible consumerism. I’ll write more about this later, but if you have a particular interest in this topic, we should talk.
*I discovered today that my Fiona Apple impression is exactly the same as my Elvis impression. Food for thought.
happy monday, everyone.
