Hello, December.

Finally bought my plane tickets…I’ll be at home from the 22nd until the 2nd, so please get in touch if you want to hang out—I’m so bad at planning events such that they actually happen.

I really love the holidays and I think it’s because I always excitedly do all my shopping in October. Every time I go to the mall, I come back feeling like I’ve been beaten with a baseball bat. Too many people rushing around, being rude, trying to get a deal, shopping on tilt. The more I stay away from all that, the happier I am. I think when I’m old and have a house, I’ll throw white lights on everything, buy a pine-scented candle and call it a day.

I’ve decided to overhaul the “toys” section of this site and replace it with pictures. I want to write a little rails app to let me cross-tag all my pictures because I never know how to organize them (popular attempts have included by date, by setting, and by subject—all failed missions). I’ve written up a spec for myself to follow that I think is pretty good, the only major thing I haven’t figured out is how to handle cases where other people in my pictures don’t want them to be displayed. Include them with the non-public ones, I guess. Anyhow, I think it’ll be fun.
